Reach IV (First Avenue to Wadsworth Blvd.)
Design an adequate channel from Allison to Wadsworth with drop
structures and erosion protection where necessary.

Reach VA (Wadsworth Blvd. through Auto Complex)
This should be designed as per the consultant's recommendation.

Reach VB (Auto Complex to Reed Street)
It will be necessary to design an adequate grasslined channel, with
drops and erosion protection, where necessary, for all reaches of unim-
proved channel.

On February 13, 1978, at a regular meeting of the City Council,
the Phase A report for South lakewood Gulch was accepted and the con-
sulting firm of Wright-Mclaughlin Engineers was authorized to proceed
with the Phase B portion of the study, as recommended by the consultant,
subject to specific recommendations by the City Engineer. Those recom-
mendations are as follows:

Reach VC (Reed Street to Confluence)
A pipe will be required from Reed Street to the upper pond in the
lakewood Country Club to convey the runoff from the more frequent events.
(2 year design).

All improvements shall be designed to provide a 100-year level of
protection, except street crossings which shall be signed according to
the Urban Drainage Criteria Manual, provided no damage to existing struc-
tures occurs. Storm drains may be sized so that a combination of sur-
face flow and conduit flow is ade~uate to convey the 100-year event, pro-
viding the surface flow can be accomodated without damage to structure
and meets accepted criteria for street inundation.

tact Tony lea at 234-8819.

I would suggest a meeting be held with UD&FCD, the consultant and the
City'staff to go over the above recommendations prior to the consultant
beginning work. Tony lea of my staff will coordinate the meeting if you
wish.

Reach I (Kipling Street to Addenbrook Pond)
The pond in Addenbrooke Park shall be designed for the maximum
retention of storm runoff. Provision shall be made to separate irrigation
and storm flows.

CITY OF lAKEWOOD

Delete the culvert design at Kipling Street and the water quality
enhancement.

The design of improvements in Addenbrooke Park shall be coordinated
with and approved by the City of lakewood Parks and Recreation Department.

Reach IIA (Addenbrooke Pond to Garrison Street)
Any channelization in Addenbrooke Park will have to be approved ,by
City of lakewood Parks and Recreation Department.

Reach lIB (Garrison Street to Rockmont Ponds)
Design an adequate channel with drop structures and erosion protection
where necessary. The design of the modifications to the Rockmont Ponds will
need coordination with the approval of Rockmont College, the City of lakewood
and the UD&FCD.
