<br />COMMENTARY - SHEET 5 OF 12 <br /> <br />COST ESTIMATE - SHEET 5 OF 12 <br /> <br />The major recommended improvement shown on Sheet 5 of 12 is the 100-year <br />channel improvement of Tucker Gulch from the State Highway #58 overpass to the <br />confl uence with Clear Creek. In confining 100-year flows to the channel, <br />replacement of the 9th Street bridge and lowering of the channel invert below <br />10th Street will be required. A total of eleven drop structures are planned, <br />including the drop and concrete cap recommended for protection of the Church <br />Ditch siphon cross i ng. It is <br />intended that existing streets be utilized for access as much as possible. <br /> <br />TOTAL CONSTRUCTION COST <br /> <br />Right-of-Way Acquisition <br /> <br />A possible alternative channel alignment could be dictated by the widening of <br />Ford Street along the Coors Porcelain Company. The City may wish to consider <br />this alternative prior to proceeding with the final channel design. <br /> <br />TOTAL CAPITOL COST OF IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />TOTALS IN EACH JURISDICTION <br /> <br />Other recommendations less apparent on this plan sheet include: maintenance <br />access to the existing rock-lined channel upstream of 7th Place, and <br />floodplain regulation of the Kenneys Run floodplain. Participation in the <br />Nat i ona 1 Flood Insurance Program shoul d be continued, and pri vate property <br />owners should be encouraged to purchase flood insurance.
