<br />"11..- . <& ~ <br />;;- <br />/ "31 <br /> COLORADO HATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br /> 102 Columbine Building <br /> 1845 Sherman Street' <br /> Denver, Colorado '80203 <br /> December 4, 1974 <br /> R E S 0 L U T I 0 N <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />vffiEREAS, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha <br />District, completed in November 1970 the FloodPlain Information Report <br />for the Denver Metropolitan Region, Volume V, which included Sanderson <br />Gulch and North Sanderson Gulch; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, by resolution adopted <br />January 12, 1971, approved and designated the floodplains described in <br />said Volume V; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood, in cooperation with the City <br />and County of Denver, Jefferson County and the Urban Drainage and Flood <br />Control District, requested Frasier & Gingery, Inc. Consulting Engineers, <br />Denver, Colorado, to revise the November 1970 Flood Plain Information <br />Report, Volume V, insofar as it pertains to Sanderson Gulch and North <br />Sanderson Gulch, to include upstream reaches not previously reported, <br />taking into account the urban development within the basin which has <br />changed the hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics of the basins and <br />their floodplains; and <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, Frasier & Gingery, Inc. has completed Major Drain- <br />ageway Planning Report, Volumes 1 and 2, including Technical"Appendix <br />dated August 1972, and Flood Hazard Area Maps, as amended, thereto, <br />dated April 1973, on Sanderson Gulch, North Sanderson Gulch and Weir <br />Gulch; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the report and flood hazard area maps outline and <br />describe the revised and additional upstream floodplains; and <br /> <br />~ffiEREAS, Article 149-1-11(4), Colorado,Revised Statutes 1963, <br />directs the Colorado ,Water Conservation Board to designate and approve <br />storm or flood water runoff channels and to make such designations <br />available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 106-2-10 (counties) and Section 139-60-1 <br />(towns and cities) provide that loeal govermental jurisdictions may <br />-provicde -zoning- -regulations for any -stomor -flood' water --runoff--channel <br />after designation and approval of such areas by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />vffiEREAS, the City of LakewooQ has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to review said reports and flood hazard ,area <br />
