Mapping and Surveys The contour maps showing the flood plain and the proposed flood plain improvements were prepared by the Bell Mapping Company under a separate mapping contract with the UD&FCD. The maps have been compiled and prepared at a scale of 1" = 100'. The ground topography in the area adjoining the creek is represented by ground contours drawn at two foot intervals. The maps were prepared photogrammetrically from aerial photographs of the area taken on February 1, 1974. The maps have been prepared utilizing USGS elevation datum and are represented to generally portray the actual ground elevation within one-half of the contour interval, or one foot. Phase B I I I I . I I I . I I I 1. Review and update findings and recommendations of Phase A. 2. Finalize hydrology and hydraulic studies including the 100-year flood plain and floodway delineation. 3. Complete a preliminary design of the recommended drainage facilities. 4. Prepare a detailed cos~ estimate of the proposed improvements. 5. Prepare a final report with drawings outlining the study findings and recommendations. 6. Submit 75 copies of the final report and a single copy of various study addendums and other pertinent data to the UD&FCD. While preparing the maps, the mapper also obtained digitized cross-sections which were used in the flood plain delineation analysis. Additional cross-sections were obtained by the engineer from the topographic maps. Acknowledgments The location of points used for establishing horizontal and vertical control for the photography are shown on the maps. No permanent monuments were established in the field for purposes of future reference.
