Upon review an0 approval by the UD&FCD, <br />the 100-year flood plain area outlined on the study maps will <br />be submitted to the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) <br />for consideration of designation and approval as an area of <br />state interest (H.B. 1041). Upon approval and designation by <br />the CWCB, the flood plain area may be so regulated by the local <br /> <br />This drainageway master planning report for Van Bibber Creek <br />presents the findings of various flood related studies and <br />analyses completed over the past few years, as well as <br />recommendations for improvement to minimize the flood hazard <br />potential along the stream. The report was prepared by Gingery <br />Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers, of Englewood, Colorado, <br />at the request of the Urban Drainage & Flood Control District <br />(UD&FCD), the City of Arvada and Jefferson County. <br /> <br />government. <br /> <br />Purpose and Scope <br /> <br />Urban Drainage & Flood Control District <br />2480 West 26th Avenue <br />suite 156-B <br />Denver, Colorado 80211 <br /> <br />The purpose of this report is to assess the particular drainage <br />problems associated with Van Bibber Creek, to compile informa- <br />tion on the creek, to complete hydrologic, hydraulic and other <br />technical studies, to evaluate and propose certain design <br />solutions to such drainage problems which concern the health <br />safety and welfare of the general public and to render certain <br />technical and professional advice on drainageway planning as <br />pertains to Van Bibber Creek. <br /> <br />Copies of this report are available for reference and purchase <br />at the office of the UD&FCD. Technical addendums to the <br />report, covering the hydrologic and hydraulic studies, are <br />available for review at the following location: <br /> <br />- INTRODUCTION - <br /> <br />The planning study was divided into two parts, Phase A and <br />Phase B. The Phase A and phase B studies included the following <br /> <br />work items: <br /> <br />Authorization <br /> <br />This planning study and report has been undertaken and completed <br />through the authorization of the UD&FCD in joint sponsorship <br />with the City of Arvada and Jefferson County. Official <br />authorization was provided through an Agreement between the <br />District and the entities, entitled, MAJOR DRAINAGEWAY PLANNING <br /> <br />Phase A <br />1. Obtain background data. <br />2. Complete preliminary hydrologic and hydraulic <br />studies considering the 2-, 10-, and 100-year <br />recurrence interval floods for both existing <br />and projected, basin land use conditions. <br />
