<br />puttc <br />education <br /> <br />PE-7 Enhance the multihazard education program. Include floods, wildland <br />fires, mudslides, earthquakes and landslides. Target insurance and real <br />estate agents, lenders, media, public officials including regulators, permit <br />officials, and inspectors. <br /> <br />OES will continue to collect information from federal, state and other <br />agencies to develop a multi hazard education program. Many agency <br />documents exist in a variety of formats - hazard maps, mitigation <br />techniques, disaster preparedness and recovery materials, current laws, <br />and regulations. <br /> <br />The completed information will be disseminated to all appropriate levels <br />of government and the public through the following avenues/agencies: <br /> <br />The state/local regulatory and permit issuing entities, the Emergency <br />Digital Information System (EDISI. Internet. California Department of <br />Conservation (DOC), California Department of Forestry and Fire <br />Protection (CDF). Resource Conservation Districts (ROC). Federal <br />Housing Administration (FHA), Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development (HUD), ARC. NFIP. SBA. USEPA. USFWS. as well as. local <br />field offices. state and local media resources, county. city and <br />communities public information offices. community emergency response <br />organizations. local banks and credit unions. and other public entities, <br /> <br />PE-2 Expand state public education programs for the d"lSsemination of disaster <br />preparedness, mitigation and recovery materials. <br /> <br />Numerous disaster related educational materials are currently available <br />from a variety of state and federal agencies. OES should expand its <br />current regional resource centers to serve as a clearinghouse for all <br />hazards. Additionally, OES should continue its efforts to establish <br />dissemination mechanisms within the community. including partnerships <br />with local jurisdictions, community based organizations, professional <br />organizations and the private sector. <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />JJ...,J militJi..
