Immediately following the Federal Disaster Declaration, disaster assistance telephone
registration and helplines were established for disaster victims. As of the date of this
report, over 65,000 individuals and families teler'!lgistered for disaster assistance.

In terms of federal and state disaster assistance, a preliminary estimate of $60 million
will be required to support the Disaster Housing Program, $25 million for the Individual
and Family Grant Program (IFG) and $294 million for public facilities that suffered
eligible damage. The Small Business Administration (SBA) estimates that millions of
dollars in low-interest residential and business loans will be processed for eligible
applicants. In addition, approximately $75 million in flood insurance claims will be
paid under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). According to early estimates
from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the California Department of
Food and Agriculture, agricultural losses for crops, structures and livestock have
totaled $93 million to date. Ongoing assessments continue.

In Northern California, field assessments revealed that "substantially damaged"
structures (structural damages exceeding 50% of market value) were largely
concentrated in the counties of Sonoma, Placer and Sacramento. Within these
counties, some 1,630 + structures experienced flooding with approximately 300
residential structures deemed as "substantially damaged".
