<br />State of Wyoming l268-DR-WY <br />Hazard Mitigation Survey Team Report <br /> <br />ISSUE: <br /> <br />Develop a power line inspection and assessment <br />program <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />Many problems that occur in a storm event can be mitigated with a <br />power line inspection and assessment program. Each utility should <br />consider the costfbenefit effectiveness of such a mitigation <br />measure to ensure overall strength and reliability of their power <br />line system. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: Maintain power lines on a regular schedule. <br /> <br />Inspect conductors for damage, tighten any loose hardware and <br />replace damaged members on wood structures. <br /> <br />Inspect and treat poles.
