According to the 2000 Census, Douglas <br />County's population is l75,766 (U.S. Census Bureau, "Factfinder" website). The County <br />Seat is located in Castle Rock, which is approximately 20 miles to the northeast. <br /> <br />The Deckers community lies within the Upper South Platte watershed along with several <br />other towns and cities. Downstream towns include Littleton, Lakewood, and Englewood <br />to name a few. This watershed lies entirely within the state of Colorado near the center of <br />the state and spans nine counties including Jefferson, Douglas, and Denver. Downstream <br />of this watershed is the Middle South Platte-Cherry Creek watershed.
