<br />17, EStIMATED PROJECT COST.. The estimated first cost of the
<br />Arkansas RIver Channelization Project, Pueblo to Las Animas, WIth
<br />Fountain Reservoir Project in operation, is $46,410,000 of which
<br />$30,136,150 would be Fedoral and $16,273,850 would be non_Federal.
<br />Unit prices used for cost estimates in Appendix A were Teanaly:ed and
<br />found to be consistent with current prices. Therefore the same unit
<br />COStS were used in this attachment. The total first cost has been
<br />apportioned between Federal and non_Federal interests in accordance
<br />with existing laws and cstahlishod rolicies. A complete analysis for
<br />cost allocation and apportionment is presented in Attachment V.
<br />Annual charges for the project at 4-7/8 percent interest rate arc
<br />estimated to be $2,805,000. A breakdown of non-Federal annual costs
<br />of operatIOn, maIntenance and major replacementS is given in Table 9.

<br />plan of .mprovel~ent are spaced along the Arbnsas River from Florence
<br />to Las Animas, Colo, They vary in sile from the Dry Creek Local
<br />Protection Project at Pueblo to the Arkansas River Channeluation
<br />Project frorn Pueblo to Las Ani"'as. The smallerprojccts are relatively
<br />simple and could be con,truct"d in the normal construction period of
<br />twO years. The two larger projects, Fountain Reservoir Projcct and
<br />the Arkansas River Channelization, Pueblo to Las Animas, have been
<br />schoduled to proceed in a logical sequence of construction operations,
<br />USIng time periods for various items of work as estimated by the
<br />ConStructlon Division. The schedule for construction work in Pueblo
<br />County is shown on plate 9 and for Crowley, Otero, and Bent Counties
