With K~lll Road D~, cver~e annual damages are <br />$724,000, providing the dam does not fail. <br /> <br />Floodflows on Lowry Air Force Base are a combination of <br /> <br /> <br />runoff from the base and from the basin upstream. There are 14 <br /> <br /> <br />major structures on the base in the flood plain. The average <br /> <br /> <br />annual damages on the base are estimated to be $9,000. Some <br /> <br /> <br />areas, such as near the intersection of East Alameda and South <br /> <br /> <br />Havana Streets and the intersection of South Havana Street and <br /> <br /> <br />East 6th Avenue, are ponding areas during storms. <br /> <br />The entire flood plain and most of the basin is essentially <br /> <br /> <br />fully developed, except for the flood plain on Lowry Air Force <br /> <br /> <br />Base. No additional structures on the base would be constructed <br /> <br /> <br />within the 100-year flood plain, however, unless flood protection <br /> <br /> <br />is provided. Flood damages are predicted to remain constant, <br /> <br />therefore, in the future.
