REACH 1; SOUTH PLATTE RIVER TO LAKE STREET

2. Provide detention facility at Little's Creek Park with a by-pass

conduit having a 2-year capacity. Protect embankment slopes from

erosion failure with buried rip rap or gabions.

1. An open grass lined channel from the South Platte to Santa Fe and

an open channel along the existing alignment and within the existing

right-of-way of Low Avenue from Santa Fe to the railroad that will

be compatible with Littleton's redevelopment concept.

2. A 100-year capacity structure at Santa Fe.

3. Incorporate Littleton's plans for the open area east of the AT &

SF Railroad with a conceptual plan to meter flows out of the pro-

posed detention facility.

4. Relocate the City Ditch in an inverted siphon adjacent to the

railroad embankment.

REACH 5: BROADWAY TO THE HIGHLINE CANAL

REACH 2; LAKE STREET TO CALEY STREET
Enlarge all street crossings and the existing channel to convey the

5-year flood, and eliminate the street crossing north of Parkhill

Avenue. Protect the channel from erosion.

1. Enlarge the culvert crossing at Broadway to prevent overtopping of

the street and to remove the upstream buildings from the 100-year

flood plain.
2. Protect the existing pond embankments from washing out in the

event of overtopping.

3. Provide a side channel spillway and flow restrictor on the Highline

Canal to spill flood flows out of the canal Grade A swale downstream

of the spillway to avoid flooding any existing structures. Convey

up to 5-year flows underneath the canal to the first pond downstream.

REACH 6; HIGHLINE CANAL TO DRAINAGE DIVIDE

Provide a median channel and cross-over culverts at the existing

channel locations and for the proposed extension of Sterne Parkway

capable of conveying the 5-year flood, eliminating the proposed cross-

ings at Greenwood Street and Lakeview Street. Protect the channel

would provide, in combination with the existing storm drain, capa-
