Box 511 <br />La Junta, CO 81050 <br /> <br />RE: Rocky Ford 48" Proposed FEMA Drainage Improvements <br /> <br />Darryl, <br /> <br />I have reviewed the project in the Rocky Ford area as you requested. I have analyzed the lower 48" run and prepared a <br />preliminary estimate for the costs for the smaller scale project to fit the limited budget. I am also recommending some <br />additional 36" pipe to improve the overall effectiveness of the smaller scale projecL <br /> <br />Enclosed is the cost estimate that I prepared for the proposed improvements. This includes installing the lower portion of <br />the 48" pipe from the inlet on County Road 19 to the concrete ditch, installing the inlet on County Road 19 south of the <br />Rocky Ford Canal, and installing curb along the east side of County Road 19 originally included in the full project. To <br />further enhance the effectiveness of these limited improvements, instaIlation of a 36" pipe from the terminus of the <br />existing treelined ditch to the manhole on County Road 19 south of the Rocky Ford Canal has been added <br /> <br />These improvements along with the improvements CDOT has proposed in this area will provide a minimum decreased <br />water depth in the area between eastbound and westbound US 50 of 8inches based on a 5-year storm event. With the <br />addition of the 36-inch pipe, the water depth will be further reduced.
