The Elm
drainage stops at the O'Brian Canal where it is retained on-site. The Elm is proposed (by engineers for the
Mountain View Industrial Park) to drain to the proposed Arsenal North Drainageway, which follows
along Havana 51. to First Creek.

(6)

Next Meetingl Adjournment

At the direction of the sponsors, the Elm alignment will be shown going through the O'Brian Canal and
Burlington Ditch and meeting with the Birch Drainageway. The Arsenal North will flow through the
O'Brian and Burlington and confluence with the Elm Drainageway. It must be noted that the current
constructed Elm channel is insufficient to convey the 100-yr future land use runoff from the Elm and
Arsenal North Drainageways. Additionally, increases to the Birch channel cross section would be
required downstream ofthe confluence with the Elm. If the channels on the Elm and Birch are not
upsized a residual floodplain would exist along those drainageways.

The alignment along First Creek can be changed from the Burlington Ditch to the Belle Creek
development. The new alignments will try to keep the channel within the designated floodplain.

Detention Upstream of SH-2
At the request of UDFCD TCB investigated the use of two detention basins upstream of SH-2. One 350
ac-ft basin at 961h Ave. would reduce the base model two to ten-year peak flows to existing model
conditions. The second basin would reduce the 1 OO-year peak flow to approximately 31 OO-cfs. This
would require approximately 500 ac-ft of storage. The location for this storage could be at the proposed
relocated O'Brian Canal, SH-2, or an enlarged Maul Reservoir.

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
