Development
.: !;JIJOARD

Mr. Larry Lang
Colorado Water Conservation Board
1313 Sherman Street, Room 823
Denver, CO 80203

RE:

STANDLEY LAKE AGREEMENT WITH URBAN DRAINAGE AND FLOOD
CONTROL DISTRICT

Dea,r Larry:

Please find enclosed a copy of the' fully executed agreement
between the City of Westminster and the Urban Drainage and Flood
Control District (UDFCD) which addresses the continued existence of
Standley Lake. As you will recall, the Flood Hazard Area Delinea-
tion Study for the Big Dry Creek and its tributaries, which was
adopted by UDFCD in 1986, was based on the assumption that the
Standley Lake would remain in existence. At the request of both
the Board of Directors of the UDFCD as well as the Colorado Water
Conservation Board, the City has executed the attached agreement in
order to assure both entities that Standley Lake will remain in
existence.

We are still waiting for the City of Broomfield to execute a
similar agreement with respect to the Great Western Reservoir. The
City Council for the City of Westminster has authorized the Mayor
to execute such an agreement as has the UDFCD's Board of Director
authorized Scott Tucker. Therefore as soon as Broomfield is pre-
pared to execute we should be able to forward you a copy of that
agree~ent. live had conversations with Mr. Jim Black of the City
of Broomfield who has indicted that that agreement should be going
to his Council for authorization "at the next Council meeting."

If you have any questions or need any additional information,
please do not hesitate to contact me.

"\

Si~:7

Richard S.
