Create a defensible space around your home and other outbuildings. <br /> Dimensions vary depending upon the degree of slope of your property. <br /> (See Appendix 7.) <br /> b. Remove trash and other combustible material (ie. hay, lawn furniture, , <br /> etc,) from the defensible space. <br /> c. Mow grass and weeds to less than 4 inches in height within 10 feet of <br /> structures, propane tanks, and utility service boxes. <br /> d. Stack fIrewood a minimum of 30 feet uphill from structure or on an <br /> even contour with structure. <br /> , <br /> e. Remove trees growing through roof or porch. <br /> f.
