The City is interested in <br />Qbtaining all citizens' input on community floodplain matters. <br /> <br />On February 6, 1997 the Piedmont Flood Plain Steering Committee held an organizational meeting. <br />Since that time, the committee has been developing a plan which addresses the problems associated <br />with continual flooding of the McKenzie Creek. In April, the committee received information from <br />the Missouri Emergency Management Agency that flood mitigation funds could be applied for <br />through a program called the Flood Mitigation Assistance Program. This program requires the City <br />to develop and adopt a comprehensive Flood Risk Plan following a public heariIlg. <br /> <br />The steering committee has recently completed the Piedmont Flood Risk Plan. In accordance with <br />the Flood Mitigation Assistance Program requirements, the public hearing has been scheduled.
