Bid Security Bond, A financial guarantee in the form of an <br />irrevocable bond or deposit, that the bidder, if selected, will accept the <br />contract as bid. <br /> <br />2, Invitation for Bid (IF B), A formal request for sealed bids which is <br />advertised in accordance with local or state law based upon functional <br />specifications and requires a formal date and time by which bids must <br />be submitted. <br /> <br />3. Performance Security Bond, A guarantee in the form of an <br />irrevocable bond or deposit, that the successful bidder will complete <br />the contract as agreed. <br /> <br />4, Request for Proposal (RFP), A forma] request for sealed proposals <br />which is advertised in accordance with local and state law based on a <br />scope of work and requires a formal date and time by which proposals <br />must be submitted, <br /> <br />5. Request for Quotation (RFQ). An informal request for either bids or <br />proposals based upon either a functional specification or a scope of <br />work and which establishes a target date and time by which quotations <br />should be submitted. <br /> <br />6, Solicitation, The process of notifying prospective bidders that the <br />local jurisdiction wishes to receive bids or proposals to provide goods <br />or services.
