The first Colorado <br />Flood MltigatiOl'l plan _ organized lIl1d lfev8IOS)ed follOWIng the l.awrl Lake Flood <br />disaster of 1982. During 1984, 17 counties on the western Slope auffered rnudsficles <br />and flooding and a reviliion to the 1982 plBn was COmpleted. In 1993, mountain <br />anawpack WllS at an al!-time high In several drainages. During these period state <br />agencies In concert with local gowmmenls complelecl pre-disaster mitigation projec:ts, <br />which mitigatecl the effectll of the ftoocIing. <br /> <br />Scope: <br />. This 1998 revision to the January 1985 Flood Hazard Mitigation Plan will update <br />flood events Illstork;al to present <br /> <br />. Incorporate the Issues and recommendations of the 1997 Interagency Hazard <br />Mitigation Team mel'T\ber$ that are intended to help achieve the goal of reducing <br />future flood events. <br /> <br />. Review all fIooc:I mitigation plans eomplatsd at the private, local, 5tate federal levels <br />and incorporate appropriate items into the 1998 Flood Hazard MitigatIon plan. <br /> <br />MitigatiDn Plan Outline: <br />1.
