d. Pathfinder Reservoir. Pathfinder Reservoir's storage
capacity is 1,015,888 acre-feet. On 1 January 1913, the reservoir
contained 831,986 acre-feet. This was 28,000 acre-feet less than
on the same date in 1972. Pathfinder Reservoir inflow consists
of Seminoe Reservoir outflow plus runoff from the incremental area
between the dams. The Sweet_ter River is the single largest
contributor. Heavy inflow from that stream in May caused
Pathfinder storage to climb rapidly. Outflow capacity is slightly
over 4,000 c.f.s.; in order to increase the release rate at
Pathfinder Reservoir, the Bureau of Reclamation increased the
Seminoe Reservoir release rate and increased the pool level at
Pathfinder Reservoir into the surcharge zone. This permitted
spill_y releases in addition to releases from the service
outlets. The maximum daily outflow was 7,191 cubic feet per
second on 8 June 1973. The maximum storage level of 1,056,011
acre-feet was reached on 6 June 1973. This was 40,189 acre-
feet into the surcharge Zone above the ungated spillway crest.

18 . SNOW COURSES - ALCOVA TO GLENllO

The incremental drainage area between Alcova Dam and
Glendo Dam had the heaviest snowpack of record in 19'73. The
Soil Conservation Service snow-course data indicated that the
heavy increase in snowpack occurred primarily in April. Table
13 provides the snow course measurement data for the four regular
snow courses in the reach.

32
