Since the bathtub filled with mud, <br />the drain and sewer lines had to be cleaned. Mattresses were ruined as well as <br />bedding. Carpeting was damaged, and one set of drapes was ruined. These costs <br />were in addition to those reported by the property owner. A flood insurance <br />premium was also paid prior to moving into the Blake property, <br />Donald and Laurine Ford, 801 Crestwood Drive, had approximately 4 inches of <br />mud and water in the entire basement, which included the garage, family room, <br />laundry room and bedroom. There were 3 broken basement windows plus a great <br />deal of debris and rocks. Outside there was 6 to 8 inches of mud and water on <br />the lawn, garden, patio and driveway plus rock and debris, <br />Two to five people worked approximately 1 month on clean-up. <br />The concrete patio was destroyed, replaced with a deck. Rock retaining <br />walls had to be rebuilt, cracks appeared in the foundation and doors were <br />swelled from water damage. <br />Costs included: <br />Recarpet family room, bedroom, laundry room $1,500.00 <br />Repair or replace basement contents including tools, <br />furnace (2 zone valves), vacuum cleaner, washer and dryer, <br />two freezers, one TV $2,000.00 <br />Replace lawn, garden, patio, retaining walls, sidewalk <br />destroyed by mud, water, rocks and debris $2,500.00 <br />Lost were one complete set of patio furniture, 6 chairs, <br />one table, one weed eater, a gas grill and numerous <br />other patio furniture pieces $1,000.00 <br />One day of regular work was lost <br />Total days spent on cleaning, repairing 135 days <br />
