damages as ruined tires. Medical costs paid for various minor injuries and long
term costs for a few mentally exhausted from the flooding itself and clean-up
and stressful worry whenever a storm blew into the area.
As one resident of the area hardest hit in 1977 said, it was something he
didn't even want to be reminded of, consequently he did not even retain records
of actual costs of his damages after he had paid the bills.
After touring the area, Governor Lamm found funds to provide some
assistance to the City of Glenwood Springs, and a check for $10,000 was
presented to the City Manager. This paid some of the overtime wages and extra
costs for supplies of the city.
