<br />aod as a f'orebay for the Turkshead powerplant. A high outlet would <br />be provided to deliver water for a treatment plant for Aurora and <br />high service areas south of Denver. Releases through the power- <br />plant at Turkshead would flow down the South Platte River for di ver- <br />sion by the city of Denver and other municipalities or for other <br />priority users. <br />A Reconnaissance aeport on the Upper South Platte Unit was <br />completed in November 1964. The investigation and the report were <br />made possible by funds advanced by the State of Colorado and <br />interested water-user organizations and entitites, acting through <br />the Colorado Water Conservation :Board, under contract with the :Bureau <br />of Reclamation. <br />The feasibility investigation is well under way and an author- <br />izing report for at least the Two Forks Dam and Reservoir can be <br />completed for presentation to the Congress simultaneously with the <br />Corps of Engineers report on the Chatfield Dam and Reservoir. <br /> <br />11 <br />
