Some of the recommended madifications
have 0 higher priority than others due to their greater effect on the overall
drainage basin or due to the fact that their functioning is required for other
modifications to function properly. Actually, the proposed modifications fall
into two categories: high priority and low priority.

High Priority Items

Detention Ponds

The Tributary L detention pond at Interstate 25 and the Niver Creek

detention pond at East 88th Avenue hove the very pronounced effect of reducing

Niver Creek flows. The entire scheme downstream of East 88th Avenue has been

laid out on the basis that these detention ponds will be constructed. These two

ponds should be given the highest priority of the entire project.

Channel Below Explorodor Calle

The channel reach downstream of Explorador Calle has been damaged
extensively by the May 5, 1973 flood. In addition, considerable developed
property along this reach is within the present 100-year flood plain. The pro-
posed modification of this reach will contain the 1 DO-year flood within the
channel; therefore, this reach should be the second phose of development.

V-l
