The draft flood insur-
ance study was submitted to FEMA on April 23, 1982.

Persons in attendance included officials from the County, Transport-
ation and Land Use departments and the City of Colorado Springs
Engineering and Planning departments. Also in attendance was Mrs.
Patricia Denham of the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments
(PPACOG) and Mr. Brian Hyde, representing the Colorado Water Conser-
vation Board (CWCB). An attendance list has been attached.

The flood insurance study report, profiles, f100dway maps and flood
insurance rate maps were presented so that the County could comment
about the general format and technical information contained in the
flood insurance study. Work maps used to develop the draft FIS were
also shown to those in attendance, so that a better idea of how the
flood profiles boundaries were determined. The draft FIS was left
with County officials for further review and comment, and to pre-
pare for the public meeting to discuss the El Paso County FIS.
No work maps were left with county officials, however, work map
sets for any stream where an original hydraulic analysis was per-
formed by COM, would be provided to the County, City of Colorado
Springs, CWCB and the PPACOG at a later date.

The County expressed an interest in seeing section corners presented
on the floodplain maps, as well as the reference marks, which appear
on the flood insurance rate maps. We will investigate the effort,
which will be required to present all the section corners on a given
map panel, and we will consult with FEMA should it require any addi-
tional funding.
