In a national emergency, identify thoSB routine health and medical services that can be suspended and, upon approval of the Governor, take action to suspend such ac- tivities. 2. Provide for health and medical Services at the SEOC, alternate SEOC's and reconstitu- tion area facUlties as required, 3, Provide Department of Health action of- ficers for the SEOC, Field COOIdlnatlon Center and other state command and con- trol facilities that may be designated. 4. Inform DODES (SEOC when activated) of emergency health and medical related problems identified within the state. 5. Verify potential disaster-related health and medical problems; take action as ap- propriate, 6, Validate and aggregate damage assess- ment data on water and sanitation systems, medical facilities and other health and medi- cal problems; take action as appropriate, 7, Provide periodic health and medical status reports to DODES/SEOC, 8- Provide for continuity of leadership and operations, Establish a line of successlon for each key position within the depart- ment/agency and Its subordinate elements to ensure that the department/agency can continue to perform its essential activities, Identify all records and other documents vital to continuity of operations. Establish a method to preSBrve same by copying, microfiche, or other means for safekeeping at an alternate location. Develop a plan to relocate all essential elements of the depart- ment/agency In event of a major natural or man-made disaster, Be prepared to move staff and critical documents to a different base(s) of operations as designated by the Governor. Be prepared to conduct opera- tions for an extended period at the altemate locatfon. 25
