4. Upon review and approval by the Oivision of Disaster Emergency
Services, updated internal plans shall be returned to their
respective departments for si gnature of the department head,
whereupon such plans shall be formally adopted;

5. A copy of all updated departmer.t~! internal plans shall be filed
and maintained by the Division of Disaster Emergency Services;

6. The Director of Division of Disaster Emergency Services is
designated -State Coordinating Officer with the responsibility
for coordinating among state departments and agencies to ensure
that the State Plan and supporting plans. SOPs. and reference
documents are developed and continuously maintained as new
conditions warrant and as new needs are identified, and that the
State Plan is implemented in an expeditious and efficient manner
in event of disaster eDergency;

7. All other state departments or agencies not charged specifically
in this plan will carry out whatever functions the Governor
sha 11 speci fy;

8. Every state department Or agency s/lall appoint a department or
agency emergency response coordinator who shall act as the
departllll!nt/agency point of contact tor all IIiltters pertaining to
COllJlre/lellSfve emergency IIilnagement. the name to be provi ded to
the Division of Disaster EMergency Services;

g. In the event the Govemor declares a state of emergency or
disaster. the Colorado State Patrol, assisted by other law
enforcement departments or agencies, including the Colorado
National Guard. wi 11, at the direction of the Governor. be
empowered to assist or aid any s/leriff or other peace officer in
the perfonaance of his/her duties upon the Governor's request or
t/le request of other local officials having jurisdiction;

10. The Division of Disaster Emergency Services will be responsible
for overseeing and coordinating the development of local
elllergency operations plans, reviewing and fil ing these plans,
and recommending changes to local governments.

11. local emergency operations plans sha,ll be forwarded to the
Division of Disaster Emergency Services for review whenever
significant up~ating has been completed;

12. The Division~of' oisaster Emergency Services will submit periodic
reports to the Governor, outlining the condition of Colorado's
comprehensive emergency management program with special emphasis
on the disaster emergency response systen, highlighting
deficiencies and problems so that they may be addressed as
needed;
