<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PROPOSED SOLUTIONS <br /> <br />A complete description of every alternative is provided in Section VII of the project report. <br />Below is a list of the alternatives with a very brief description following each alternative: <br /> <br />Alternative 1 - No Action: <br />Leave conditions as they are today. This is the "Do Nothing" Alternative. <br /> <br />Alternative 2 - New levees upstream of State Highway 196: <br />Construct levees on the east and west sides of Wiley Drainage Ditch upstream of State Highway <br />196 to protect existing residential development. Provide up to 100-year level of protection for all <br />residential structures in the project area. <br /> <br />Alternative 3 - Floodproofing, relocation, or elevation of flood prone structures: <br />Floodproof, relocate, or elevate all of the flood prone residential structures near the Wiley <br />drainage ditch upstream of State Highway 196 at the north end of town. This would be a stand- <br />alone alternative and would not require construction of alternative 2. <br /> <br />Alternative 4 - New Bridge at State Highway 196 and associated channel improvements: <br />Construct transition channel upstream and downstream of the Colorado Highway 196 <br />embankment. Add additional bridge structure at Highway 196. Provide up to 100-year level of <br />protection for all but three residential structures in the project area. <br />
