<br /> A. If a serious flood has occurred the Executive Director, or his designee, shall consult with .
<br /> affected local governments and the Chairman or Chairman Pro-tern to determine if a flood
<br /> disaster exists (paragraph 6,5 of FDMP) ,
<br /> B, If a flood disaster exists $10,000 is immediately available to implement all or portions of
<br /> this plan (Resolution #15, Series of1978),
<br /> C, NotifY and brief Board members on flooding event.
<br /> D, Coordinate aerial photography with the CWCB and OEM (paragraph 5,1 ofFDMP),
<br /> E, Appoint a staff member as public information officer (PIO), All District statements should
<br /> be coordinated through the PIO, PIO should coordinate District statements with those of
<br /> OEM and CWCB, as appropriate, PIO should also release the "After-the-Flood" press
<br /> materials to the local news media (see File No, 0403,08, and the illustration attached to
<br /> this SOP),
<br /> F, Consider using LRCWE for documenting flood outlines and high water marks,
<br /> Coordinate this with local governments (paragraph 5,1 ofFDMP), .
<br /> G, Inspect any affected District funded flood control facilities and/or District maintained
<br />
<br />facilities for effectiveness and damage incurred, Consider using the consultants who
<br />designed the facilities, Take pictures to document damage or lack of damage,
<br />(paragraphs 5,1,5,2 and 5,6 ofFDMP),
<br />H, Contact researchers at the University of Colorado, Natural Hazards Center (492-6818) to
<br />begin an evaluation of the effectiveness of the District's notification program in reducing
<br />loss oflife and damage, (paragraph 5,3 ofFDMP),
<br />I. University researchers can also be used to evaluate effectiv,eness of District funded flood
<br />detection and flood warning plans if any were in effect in the flooded area, (paragraph 5,4
<br />of FDMP) , Other District consultants could also be used,
<br />1. Contact USGS and ask them to determine flood discharges, Coordinate with OEM and
<br />local government. (paragraph 5,1 of FDMP) ,
