<br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency converted said maps to Flood <br />Insurance Rate Maps by letter dated March I, 1986; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said maps include approximate floodplain delineations for the following storm <br />and floodwater runoff channels and basins withlll the unincorporated portions of Gilpin County, as <br />of June 10, 1977, as listed in Table I: <br /> <br />TallIe! <br />Approximate Floodplain Information Within Unincorporated Portions of Gilpin County <br /> <br />Arapaho Lakes <br />Baker Gulch <br />Chase Gulch <br />Colorado Creek <br />Elk Creek <br />Gamble Gulch <br />Heart Lake <br />Iceburg Lakes <br />James Peak Lake <br />Karel Park Lake <br />Lake Gulch <br />Little Echo Lake <br />Lump Gulch <br /> <br />;and <br /> <br />Lump Gulch <br />Mammoth Gulch <br />]\forth Clear Creek <br />Pine Creek <br />Ralston Creek <br />Roger Pass Lake <br />Russell Gulch <br />Smith HilI Gulch <br />South Beaver Creek <br />South Boulder Creek <br />Thorn Lake <br />Onnamed Lakes <br />Onnamed tributaries to Ralston Creek <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board completed a new report entitled <br />"Floodplain Information Report, Gilpin County, Colorado" dated February 1999 which provides <br />technical and floodplain management information to supplement the floodplain delineations <br />contained on said floodplain maps dated June 10, 1977; and <br /> <br />LOCAL REOUEST FOR DESIGNATION <br />WHEREAS, Gilpin County, Colorado bas requested the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board to designate and approve the floodplaiCl information contained on said Flood Hazard <br />Boundary Maps dated June 10, 1977 with included Floodplain Information Report dated February <br />1999; and <br /> <br />c.R.S AUTHORITY <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-1 II, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br /> <br />2 <br />
