Sample Governor's Memorandum <br />Potential Drought Emergency <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />TO: Executive Directors, All Departments of State Government <br /> <br />FROM: Governor, State of Colorado <br /> <br />RE: Activation of The Colorado Drought Response Plan <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />The chairman of the Water Availability Task Force (WATF), has informed me that <br />drought conditions have developed along the (Arkansas) and ( ) River Basin (s) <br />to the degree that counties in the (Southeast) and ( ) are likely to receive severe <br />impacts to their environments and to the various sectors of their economy. If present <br />trends continue, other river basins and sectors of the entire state's economy may soon be <br />affected. <br /> <br />Under these circumstances, and based on a recommendation from both the WATF and <br />DODES, I have decided to activate the State's Drought Response Plan (DRP) so that <br />specific impacts may be identified, and expeditious and effective remedial action may be <br />taken. <br /> <br />As of the date of this memorandum, the Colorado Drought Response Plan is in effect; the <br />following actions, as specified in the plan will be taken. <br /> <br />(1) The Review and Reporting Task Force will be activated under chairmanship of <br />Director, DODES. The first meeting of the Task Force will be held within five <br />(5) days ofreceipt of this memorandum. <br /> <br />(2) (All) Impact Task Forces: municipal, wildfire, _________, ____ow_ow_ow, ______________, <br />----------- will be activated. The TF chairpersons will call their fust meeting as <br />soon as possible after the Review and Reporting Task Force meeting. <br /> <br />Figure 4 <br /> <br />11 <br />
