The potential impact of this
overbank flooding should be evaluated by Coors Industries to determine if
preventative measures should be implemented (i.e., raising the south bank of
the creek to prevent overflow, etc.) .

Station 744+00 to Station 750+00

CONSTRUCTION

Remove and Relocate Drop Structure and
Lower Channel In Vicinity Of Railroad Bridge

Reach 3 begins at McIntyre Street and the 100-year flood flow is confined
within the channel banks except for an area just upstream of the Coors
Industries railroad bridge, where flows can overtop the north and south
banks and affect the Coors Transload operations. Removal of the drop struc-
ture just downstream of the rail road bridge and reconstruction of a new drop
upstream would lower the channel invert through the bridge and lower the
water surface approximately 2 to 3 feet, thus eliminating the overflow.

Util ity Relocation Costs

TOTAL CONSTRUCTION COSTS

ENGINEERING AND CONTINGENCIES (30~ of Construction Costs)

FISCAL, LEGAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE (10% of Above Total)

Regulation of the existing 100-year floodplain is the recommended strategy
for the remainder of Reach 3.

PROPERTY ACQUISITION COSTS

Maintenance Access to this segment is available by both the Colorado Route
58 frontage road on the north side and by the existing dirt road adjacent to
the channel on the south side.

TOTAL IMPROVEMENT COSTS
(1982)

MAINTENANCE

Annual Operation/Maintenance Cost

$ 50,000.00

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

-0-

$ 50,000.00

$ 15,000.00

$ 6,500.00

$ -0-

$ 71,500.00

$ 18,500.00
