I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

!I

DETAILED STUDY AND ANALYSIS RECOMMENDATIONS

The following detailed work tasks are suggested for consideration. All items are
believed to be important to the quality of the effort and design of improvements.

The items denoted H for high are the most important as they could greatly affect
the outcome of analysis, hazard identification, planning, and facility function.

M items are of lesser, medium or moderate importance. If the work is not
conducted, then the accuracy of the resultant hydrology or floodplain map could be
moderately affected, or an improvement project would have to conduct more
investigative effort later and/or suffer from increased cost during or after
construction. However, basic magnitudes of flows herein are not likely to be
affected. For example, work related to the spill above Highway 36 is of "H"
importance because significantly different values could result and affect everything
downstream. The work associated with the overspill of Highway 36 on the west
side of the valley will refine water surface elevations and whether additional minor
flows spill at RTD or to the Anderson Ditch to the east occur, but the work will not
change the basic magnitude of the overs pill. Its importance is moderate because of
this, and the need to have good information for planning or design efforts could be
deferred.

The lesser importance items basically could be deferred to later phases of work or
as this significance becomes clearer.

Various subtasks are listed in their approximate sequential location in the watershed
or logical order of work:

1. Hvdrology and SUDDorting Field Work and Hydraulic Analvsis

A. Field Work

.

Highway 36 spill area including bridge and area
upstream to upper levee.

[HI (topo survey plus
geotechnical and
geomorphic testing
in reach from
Highways 36 to 93)

.

Upper Dry Creek No.2 System from Highway
36 spill to Anderson Ditch
(also including other Highway 36 culverts in
area).

[HI (instrument
survey)

V-2
