McGinn
Canon City Administrator
P. O. Box 711
Canon City, Colorado 81212

.

Dear Mr. McGinn:

The major problems with the Canon City-Florence mapping
have finally been satisfactorily resolved. The map sheets,
all cross-sections, and support data which were completely
redone, cover the following sheets:

T18S, R70W, Sec 28, SW~
T19S, R70W, See 12, NE~
T19S, R70W, Sec 1, SE~

The corrections which have been made to the subject maps were
field checked by Board staff in cooperation with the City
Engineer's staff. Through our check, we now find the subject
maps to meet the minimum Colorado Water Conservation Board
accuracy requirements for acceptable topography to be used in
floodplain and drainage studies.

By our field mapping checks, we'find the new mapping for the
Northeast Canon Drainage Study to be 0.0 to 1.5 feet lower than
actual ground elevations tied to U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey's
mean sea level datum. These differences are fairly uniform
throughout the study reach, Along the Arkansas River study
reach, the topographic mapping generally varies from 0.0 to
plus/minus one contour interval (2 feet) which is considered
to be a minimum standard. Thus, we will accept the mapping
and surveys as base mapping for the floodplain and drainage
studies.

COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD, Frederick V.
