.

2. A.T. & S. F. Railroad Closure Structure.

the two

(a)
bays.

Thirty seven galvanized steel logs, 21 ft. 8 in. long for
Thirty four required, three extra logs furnished;

(b) Four 2 in. by 6 in. by 5 ft. wood spacers to be inserted in
concrete wall recesses;

(c) Four 3/8 in. galvanized chains with grab hooks to tie down
logs to eye bolts anchored in concrete walls;

(d) Two stoplog lifting' tongs;

(e) One flat bed, I-ton truck for the tranportation of logs from
place of storage to area immediately adjacent to closure structure; (same
truck can be used at both structures)

(f) One A-frame or similar lifting device for the steel logs.
(Same device can be used at both structures)

It is recommended that logs for the Highway 50 and the A.T. & S.F. Railroad
closure structures be kept separate and logs in each set marked HWY and R/R
to avoid confusion during an emergency. Also bladed access roads to both
structures from place of storage should be provided and properly maintained.

4-04 Flood Early Warning System. Because of the potential rapid flood
development in Wild Horse Creek, consideration was given to providing an
adequate flood early warning system which will sound an alarm warning
residents of approaching floods. This early alarm will give time to the
sponsor to activate a crew and make all necessary arrangements for a timely
closure of the two stoplog structures. The flood early warning system is
being designed by the U.S. Weather ~~U and will be installed in the near
future. ~c.t'".'te.

11
