<br /> (d) Remove manhole covers and dean sill and manhole areas; <br /> (e) Install wide flange posts in manholes; <br /> ( f) Install stoplogs in the two center bays then the two outer <br />bays; <br /> (g) Insert wood spacers between end of logs and wall recesses <br />and between end of logs and posts to eliminate voids and keep logs centered <br /> <br />(h) When logs reach their maximum height, tie same down to eye <br />bolts anchored in concrete wall on either side of the structure and to posts <br />with grab hooks and chains provided for this purpose; <br /> <br />(i) Install one row of sandbags the entire length of the <br />structure bottom to minimize seepage; <br /> <br />(j) Continually patrol area to insure structure is functioning <br />as designed; <br /> <br />(k) To remove the structure, follow steps a-i in reverse <br /> <br />sequence. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />A.T. & S.F. Railroad Closure Structure. <br /> <br />to rest and <br />material to <br /> <br />(a) Thoroughly clean area of both bays where bottom stoplogs are <br />level irregularities with sand or other adequate leveling <br />provide a straight base; <br /> <br />(b) Install stoplogs and insert wood spacers in walls recesses <br />to eliminate voids and keep stoplogs centered; <br /> <br />(c) When logs reach their maximum height, tie same down to eye <br />bolts anchored in concrete walls with chains provided for this purpose; <br /> <br />(d) Place a row of sandbags across the structure bottom to minimize <br /> <br />seepage; <br /> <br />(e) Continually patrol area to insure structure is functioning <br />as designed; <br /> <br />(f) To remove the structure, follow steps b-d in reverse <br /> <br />sequence. <br /> <br />It is estimated that the Highway SO and the A.T. & S.F. Railroad closure <br />structures can be erected in two hours and removed in one hour. The labor <br />required would be one foreman and four laborers. <br /> <br />9 <br />
