.

.

absence of any reports which questioned the structural
stability of the levees and the fact that the freeboard for
the lOa-year flood varried from 4 to 12 feet. The
previously identified breech in the levee system at l5th
Street where a canal enters Wild Horse Dry Creek still
exists but any flooding which enters behind the levee system
at that point would fit the current designation of Zone B
flooding

.

.

.

Using the revised hydraulic model two floodways were
computed for Wild Horse Dry Creek. One floodway based on
the City IS S3 zone resulted in surcharges exceeding 1.7
feet. The second floodway based on the FIHM Guidelines and
specifications included placing the floodway downstream of
the 18th Street bridge on or near the west bank and on the
east bank protective levee.

.

.

.

The results of this analysis are shown on the maps,
profiles, and technical back-up materials included with this
report.

.

.

-12-

.
