<br />as part of the 1989 study to develop flow parameters in the vicinity <br />of Sterling's proposed city park. This study will also discuss the <br />feasibility of the park's features tha.t the City of Sterling is <br />currently considering. <br /> <br />lOCATICB <br /> <br />Sterling is 10C8,ted in the northeast corner of Colorado in logan <br />Cbunty. The approximate boundaries for the area S~!t aside for the <br />city park are shom in figures 1 and 2. <br /> <br />BACKGR(Um Il/ITA <br /> <br />SURVEY :J:NFC>>fATICN <br /> <br />The topographic mapping developed from December 1976 aerial <br />photography was used in this study. The maps were prepared by Blevins <br />Mapping for Logan Cbunty, Cblorado. The contour interval is 2 feet <br />and scale is 1-inch = 400 feet. This mapping was also used in the <br />September 1978 Flood Insurance Study' (FrS) imd the 1989 Section 22 <br />study. Plots of the cross sections 'iNithin cIty property are located <br />in Appendix A, Cross Section Data. Appendix A shows the entire cross <br />section as well as an enlarged portion show:i.ng in more detail that <br />part within the floodway developed in the 1989 study. The cross <br />sections are plotted from left bank to right: bank, looking dov;l!lstream. <br /> <br />2 <br />
