This Revision: NOV 2 9 /994

102-D-A

Dear Mr. Joswick:

This is in response to a request for a revision to the effective Flood
Insurance Study (FIS) and National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) map for
your community. Specifically, this responds to a letter dated January 18,
1994, from Mr. Bryan Duff, P.E., Goff Engineering & Surveying, Inc.,
regarding the effective FIS report, Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), and
Flood Boundary and Floodway Map .(FBFM) for the unincorporated areas of
La Plata County, Colorado. Mr. Duff requested that we revise the effective
FIRM and FBFM to show the effects of revised hydraulic analyses that
incorporate more detailed topographic data, the modeling of the Trimble Lane
bridge, and channel modifications constructed as a part of the Dalton Ranch
and Golf Club Phase I, along the Animas River from approximately 1 mile
downstream to approximately 1.9 miles upstream of Trimble Lane. This request
follows a Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR), which was issued on
March 31, 1993.

.All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with
Mr. Duff's letters dated January 18, February 14, April 20, and July 29,
1994; with a letter dated July 15, 1994, from Mr. Butch Knowlton, Director of
Building and Emergency Services, La Plata County Floodplain Administrator;
and with a letter dated September 9, 1994, from Mr. Frank J. Sinton,
President, Redcliff Development Inc., d.b.a. Dalton Ranch and Golf Club. All
fees necessary to process this Letter of Map Revision (LOMR), a total of
$4,840, have been received.

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown
on the effective FIRM and FBFM, and have revised the FIRM and FBFM to modify
the elevations and floodplain and floodway boundary delineations of a flood
having a I-percent probability of being equaled or exceeded in any given year
(base flood) along the Animas River from approximately 1 mile downstream to
approximately 1.9 miles upstream of Trimble Lane.
