Improved management of the state's flood <br />hazard areas through the effective use of <br />federal, state, local and private project <br />dollars in identified floodplains, <br /> <br />. Mapped, designated and approved 348 floodplain <br />studies on 4,500 miles of streams so that <br />Colorado communities can better manage the <br />state's natural floodplains, <br /> <br />. Insured that mortgage dollars, when spent in <br />floodplain areas, are covered against loss by <br />flood insurance, <br /> <br />. Promoted non-structural approaches for dealing <br />with flood hazards, and <br /> <br />.
