<br />Floodplain Management Program Elements <br /> <br />I - Rood Hazard Identification and Designation: This element addresses <br />the identification and designation of the State's 100-year <br />floodplains. Duties include the performance of floodplain studies <br />and designation and approval of floodplain delineations. This <br />responsibility allows Colorado communities to adopt legally <br />enforceable floodplain information for regulatory purposes. <br />See 37-60-~06(C) and 24-65.1-403(3) (a) & (b) . <br /> <br />11- Emergency Response: This element entails the ewCB working with <br />the Corps of Engineers, OEM, SCS, DOLA, DWR, COOT, NWS, FEMA, local <br />governments and the Governors Office for Advanced Measures, Flood <br />Fights and Post Flood Recovery Operations. See 37-60-106(d). <br /> <br />III - Rood Hazard Reduction: This element addresses the reduction of <br />the exposure of people and property to flood hazards. The Flood <br />Section provides technical assistance and design and construction <br />coordination to communities who need to pursue structural and non- <br />structural measures to reduce flood hazards.See 37-60-~06(d). <br /> <br />IV - Coordination of CWCB-Sponsored Rood Related Programs: T his <br />element addresses the coordination by the ewCB of flood related <br />programs carried out by other agencies. See 24-65.~-403 (3) (a) and <br />37-60-06(f). <br /> <br />v - Community Assistance: This element assures that the ewCB <br />provides technical assistance and information to Colorado's NFIP <br />participating communities. See St;ate Executive Order 8504. <br /> <br />VI - Technical Information SUpport System: This element assures that <br />technical information and data (maps, profiles, HEC-2 computer <br />runs, etc.) is supplied to entities such as the engineering <br />community, appraisers and mortgage lenders. See 37-60-~06(d). <br /> <br />VII - Public Education: This element assures that information and data <br />concerning administration of the NFIP and floodplain management, in <br />general, is conveyed to the pUblic-at-large and make presentations <br />to schools, communities, professional groups, etc. See State <br />Executive Order 8504. <br /> <br />VIII - Development of Technical Standards: This element assures that <br />reasonably uniform standards are applied to the identification and <br />designation of all floodplains within Colorado. See 24-65.~-403 <br />(3) (a) . <br />
