<br />13.10 COSTS. Except as may be otherwise provided for in the PROPOSAL, <br />no separate payment wi 11 be made for any of the items or <br />requirements set forth under this General Condition and all <br />costs incurred will be considered to be included in the <br />appropriate CONTRACT PRICES bid. <br /> <br />GC-14 Inspection and Testing. <br /> <br />14.01 GENERAL. The OWNER, through its assigned INSPECTORS, and/or the <br />ENGINEER will observe WORK as the WORK progresses. The purpose <br />of the observation activity is to try to determine on an <br />on-going basis whether or not the CONTRACTOR's work is in <br />general compliance with the contract requi rements. Whether or <br />not the work or any part of the work is defective wi 11 be <br />determined by comparing it to the DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS, <br />supplemental drawings and specifications and further measuring <br />it against the standard of quality implied by the CONTRACTOR's <br />warranty. Al so, should the appearance and performance of any <br />element of the WORK fail to conform to standards of the trade <br />for such WORK, that WORK may be declared defective. <br /> <br />All materials and equipment used in the construction of the <br />PROJECT shall be subj ect to adequate inspect i on and testing in <br />acco rdance with generally accepted standards, as requi red and <br />defined in the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. <br /> <br />The OWNER shall provide all inspection and testing services not <br />required by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. <br /> <br />The CONTRACTOR shall provide at his expense the testing and <br />inspection services required by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. <br /> <br />I f the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, 1 aws, ordi nances, rul es, regul ati ons <br />or orders of any public authority have jurisdiction require any <br />WDRK to specifically be inspected, tested, or approved by <br />someone other than the CONTRACTOR, the CONTRACTDR will give the <br />OWNER timely notice of readiness. The CONTRACTOR will then <br />furnish the OWNER the required certificates of inspection, <br />test i ng or approval. <br /> <br />Inspections, tests or approvals by the ENGINEER or others shall <br />not relieve the CONTRACTOR from his obligations to perform the <br />WORK in accordance with the requirements of the CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENTS and to also inspect his own WORK. <br /> <br />14.02 ACCESS TO WORK. The OWNER, ENGINEER and their representatives <br />wi 11 at all times have access to the WORK. In addition, <br />authorized representatives and agents of any participating <br />Federal or State agency shall be permitted to inspect all work, <br />materials, payrolls, records of personnel, invoices of <br />materials, and other relevant data and records. The CONTRACTOR <br />wi 11 provide proper facil ities for such access and observation <br />of the WORK and also for any inspection, or testing thereof. <br /> <br />IV-15 <br /> <br />(1667-3/90) <br />
