<br />made prior to the award of CONTRACT; however, approval of all <br />substitutions is mandatory prior to installation. <br /> <br />Documentation, related information and data, including but not <br />necessarily limited to the following, shall be submitted: <br /> <br />a. Fill catalog data, specifications, drawings, illustration, <br />etc., showi ng compl ete engi neeri ng phys i ca 1 and mechani ca 1 <br />characteristics, dimensions, performance, capacity and <br />ratings, and all other necessary information. <br /> <br />b. Any and all departures from the SPECIFICATIONS must be <br />pointed out and shown on material submitted. <br /> <br />c. Reason for requesting "Or Equal" such as quality, cost of <br />maintenance or operation, price, delivery, etc. <br /> <br />The ENGINEER shall indicate approval or disapproval of the <br />requested substitution(s) either by separate letter or by <br />endorsement on the CONTRACTOR's letter of request. Any <br />additional cost incurred by an approved substitution (including <br />engineering costs of redesign) shall be at the CONTRACTOR's <br />expense. The CONTRACTOR shall process requests for material <br />substitutions in a timely manner. Prior approval of <br />substitutions is mandatory before installation. <br /> <br />10.09 MATERIALS APPROVAL. The CONTRACTOR shall submit, in writing, <br />the names and addresses of the manufacturers or suppliers of all <br />materials to be used on this project. Such information shall <br />include applicable testing certifications, sizes, types, design <br />specifications, location of source, etc., and shall be submitted <br />to the ENGINEER, between the time of the awarding of the CONTRACT <br />and the time the "Notice to Proceed" is issued, in order that <br />ample time can be allowed for testing and inspection of the <br />various materials to be used. All materials and equipment must <br />be new and approved by the ENGINEER pri or to start of <br />const ruct ion. <br /> <br />10.10 PROCEDURES FOR SUBMITTALS. The CONTRACTOR shall submit SHOP <br />DRAWINGS, requests for mated al and equi pment approval sand/or <br />substitution approvals, etc., in a timely manner so as to allow <br />fourteen (14) calendar days for review, research, testing and <br />inspection if necessary. <br /> <br />Normally, a minimum of six (6) full sets of submittal documents <br />for each request wi 11 be requi red to be furni shed to the <br />ENGINEER. Upon approval or disapproval by the ENGINEER, <br />distribution will be made as follows: <br /> <br />2 sets returned to CONTRACTOR <br />2 sets furnished to CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR or RESIDENT <br />ENGINEER (1 set shall be marked "As Constructed, RECORD <br />FILE" and filed with the Construction Record File <br /> <br />IV-ll <br /> <br />(1667-3/90) <br />
