WCR 10 Crossing Replace the existing 2'H x 3.5'W arch CMP crossing ofWCR
10 with a structure with a minimum opening of 3 'H x 5' W. Transitions from the
existing channel to the bridge crossing are required along with placement of
stabilization measures to control the potential erosion in the vicinity of the crossing.
In conjunction with replacement of the crossing structure, approximately 250 feet
of roadway should be raised a maximum of 1.5 feet.

2. Regional Detention Ponds To reduce the peak flows within the major
drainageway, two regional detention ponds are proposed south of WCR 10 and
west of I-25. Both ponds are located behind an existing railroad embankment.
For the pond located along the major drainageway, 22 acre-feet of storage is
required which will necessitate the acquisition of approximately IO acres along with
the construction of an improved outlet structure. The pond located on the tributary
to the major drainageway will require 33 acre-feet of storage. At this location, it
is necessary to obtain approximately 5 acres of land along with the construction of
an improved outlet.

This reach also includes the crossing of I-25 and the East Frontage Road. Conversations
with representatives of CDOT have indicated that these structures will be replaced with two 8 'H
x 8'W RCBs. It should be noted that the existing structures adequately convey the peak flows
generated during the 100-year storm event. The proposed structures also convey these flows.

5.2.10 Godding Hollow Basin Reach GIO: West Tributary at 1-25

The improvements in this reach focus on the alleviation of flooding at I-25 and a tributary
to the major drainageway located north of State Highway 52. Based on conversations with
representatives ofCDOT, the existing 36-inch structure is being replaced with three 6'H x 8'W
RCBs. In addition, a conveyance channel is being constructed to convey stormwater runoff from
the 1-25 crossing to the major drainageway. However, it is understood that the existing detention
pond at this location (approximately 80 acre-feet) is being reduced significantly. To limit the peak
flows in the major drainageway and mitigate the reduction of the existing detention pond, a
regional detention facility is proposed immediately east of I-25 along the tributary channel. The
regional pond will store 144 acre-feet which will require acquisition of 40 acres of land along with
the construction of an outlet structure. The improvements to Reach G 10 are presented in Figure
5.11.

T:10PEMCoweldO/lcoweldO/ I'll rpt.wpd

5.25

September 8, /999
