Transitions from the existing channel to the bridge crossing are required along with
placement of stabilization measures to control the potential erosion in the vicinity of the crossing.
An existing detention pond is also located within this reach. The existing pond is located
west of 1-25 and south of WCR 18. This existing pond tends to reduce the peak flows within the
major drainageway; consequently, preserving the storage volume is necessary. At this location,
it is recommended that property be obtained and a new detention pond be constructed capable of
storing not less than 88 acre-feet.
Figure 5.6 presents the improvements associated with Reach G5.

5.2.6 Godding Hollow Basin Reach G6: WCR 16

The proposed improvements to Reach G6 focus on the replacement of the existing 6' H x
8'W arch CMP crossing of WCR 16 with a bridge structure with a minimum opening of 8'H x
40'W. Transitions from the existing channel to the bridge crossing are required along with
placement of stabilization measures to control the potential erosion in the vicinity of the crossing.
In conjunction with the replacement of the existing structure, approximately 800 feet of the
roadway should be raised to a maximum height of 5 feet. Figure 5.7 presents the improvements
associated with Reach G6.

5.2.7 Godding Hollow Basin Reach G7: State Highwa.y 52fCoalridge Ditch

Improvements in Reach G7 focused on the alleviation of flooding problems in the vicinity
of State Highway 52. The specific improvements to Reach G7 are presented below and also in
Figure 5.8.

1. State Highway 52 Crossing Replace the existing 8'H x 8'W RCB crossing of State
Highway 52 with a bridge structure with a minimum opening of 10'H x 11 'W.
Transitions from the existing channel to the bridge crossing are required along with
placement of stabilization measures to control the potential erosion in the vicinity
of the crossing. In conjunction with the bridge replacement, raise 1,600 feet of
roadway a maximum of 4 feet.

T:IOPEMCoweldO/lcoweidOJ Inl rpt.wpd

5.23

SeptemberS, 1999
