The flood plain is dependent upon the
final grading of the area which is not known at this time. However,
using the overlot grading plan, the storm runoff will overtop the curb
on the south side of Mississippi Court and flood the north side of the

B, Drainageway B

Drainageway B is a tributary to McIntrye Gulch at Alameda Parkway,

draining the southeast flank of Green Mountain,

The channel in this reach has been designated Drainageway B-2

and is tributary to Drainageway B-1 at Mississippi Court and Arbutus

The channel in the upper portions of this reach consists of a parabolic-

commercial area. The grated surface inlets in Mississippi Court near
Ohio Avenue will intercept some of the storm runoff with the remaining
runoff flowing south on Ohio Avenue to the drainageway along Alameda

Street.

shaped section on the steep, upper slopes of Green Mountain, with average

slope of 12%, In the lower portions of the reach, the channel consists
entirely of street flow down Arbutus Street to Mississippi Court, with
an average slope of 7%,
The flood plain is generally contained within the channel area in
the upper reaches with high velocity flow, In the lower reaches, the flood
plain is contained within the street ROW with some local flooding at Beech
Street intersection, The flood flows occurring within Foothills Drive
will overtop the street and cause shallow flooding in the adjacent

Parkway.
Above Alkire Street, the drainageway consists entirely of street
flow down Mississippi Court, which is the focal point for the storm
runoff from the basin. The average slope is about 7.0%. The flood
plain is generally contained within the street R,O.W. with some local

flooding of the adjacent property.
The flood hazards in the reach consist of erosion, deterioration
of the street, debris removal and cleanup, interrupted traffic and services,
content and inventory damage in the commercial area, loss of income,

residential area,

The flood hazards in this reach consist of erosion, debris removal and

structural and content damage in the residential area, and a low to
moderate life hazard due to the shallow high velocity flow along

cleanup, interrupted traffic and services, deterioration of the street,

content and ,inventory damage to the houses, and a low to moderate life

Mississippi Court.

hazard due to the shallow high velocity flow in Arbutus Street,

11
