<br />support the approximate floodplain delineations for the stream reaches listed in Tables 2, 3 and <br />4; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report for the City of Colorado Springs dated August 16, 1995 <br />provides, on the basis of completed flood control improvements and hydraulic analyses that were <br />approved by the Federal Emergency Managemetlt Agency as part of a Letter of.Map Revision <br />(LOMR), the following approximate floodplain information, which was supported by a detailed <br />hydrologic analysis, which revised approximate floodplain information was previously designated <br />and approved by Resolution No. 264, as listed in Table 5, attached hereto and by this reference <br />incorporated herein: <br /> <br />TABLE 5 <br /> <br />Approximate Information Which Has Been Revised bv a LOMR <br /> <br />North Branch of Douglas Creek South <br /> <br />; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board is taking this action under the provisions of Rule 9.0.2. of the <br />Board's "Rules and Regulations for the Designation and Approval of Floodplains and of Storm <br />or Floodwater RUrloffChannels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1), (Board Initiative), and the City of <br />Colorado Springs and the EI Paso Regional Building Department have been notified and their <br />comments have been considered in this resolutio/l; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colorado Sprin~s, Colorado, has sent a letter requesting the <br />Colorado Water Conservation to designate and approve the floodplains set forth in the aforesaid <br />new report which was dated after the deadline of 30 days prior to this Board meeting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basiP. only after designation and approval by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the information in said new report for the study reach listed in Table I meets <br />all of the requirements for detailed information listed under the Board's "Rules and Regulations <br /> <br />8 <br />
