Records include
temperature and relative humidity measured around 2:30 p.m.,
local standard time. The data are used in estimating
severity of fire danger and forest management planning.
Most stations report only during the fire season,

Computerized listings by station, year, and state are
available. The data are in a raw format. Programs and
software are available for creating user files for spe-
cial analyses. These are updated semi-monthly in the
fire season and once every 1 to 2 months in the winter.
Data are stored on the Federal computer in Ft. Collins,
CO, and any user with access to the computer may
use the file for the cost of computer services.

The National Fire Weather Data Library: What It Is and
How to Use It, R.
