<br />/ <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />FPR 245 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 16, 1986 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento <br />District, at the request of the City of Rifle, completed in <br />April, 1973, "Floodplain Information Report, Colorado River, <br />Rifle, Government and Hubbard Gulch Creeks"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />by the City of Rifle, by Resolution No. 22, adopted July 11, <br />1973, approved and designated the floodplains described in said <br />report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City <br />of Rifle, Garfield County, Colorado," which includes floodplain <br />information and data for the Colorado River, Rifle Creek, Rifle <br />Creek Spiltflow, Government Creek, Hubbard, Helmer and Ramsey <br />Gulches, dated January 3, 1986, has been prepared by Simons & Li <br />Associates, Inc., under contract with the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report describes and outlines the <br />floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater <br />runoff channels or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Rifle has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid new report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106( 1), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdic- <br />tions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br /> <br />708 <br />res!245 <br />
