LIST THE PROrECTS
For each potential solution, the steps that will
need to be taken to accomplish it should be
listed. Each step can be thought of as a sepa~
rate "project." For some solutions the steps
will need to be in a logical order. For others,
the projects can be listed and done in any
convenient order.

SET GO" 1.5
After the projects are listed in the strat-
egy, goals should be set for each project The
goals should state exactly what is to be done,
by whom, and a deadline for doing it This
will also help break the projects up into man-
ageable segments.

LOCATE fUNniNG ANI>
TECIINICAl. EXPERTISE
Once the goals have been set, the sources of
funding and other a-.sistance listed in the plan
should be reviewed. All the funding sources
listed under a potential solution should be
contacted to get up-to-date details about
restrictions on allocations, application proce-
dures, deadlines, eK City and county depart-
ments with ongoing programs and operating
budgets should nol be overlooked. It may be
necessary to combine or "package" different
programs together to get a project completely
finished. Thinking in phases of implementa-
tion can be effective. with one program or
agency leading or funding the initial study,
another backing the preparatory work.
another providing technical assistance. and
still another providing financial support for
the final stages.
